Welcome to the CS101 Digital Literacy Summer 2012 Wiki.

We live in the digital age. Technology is changing the way we live our lives. The goal of this course is to empower students to be digitally literate. Computers and their applications are at the center of our everyday lives. In this course, we explore what it means to communicate effectively and engage in critical thinking and problem solving using computers as a creative tool. In creating this wiki the students will learn how to create and use this type of collaborative web page, and learn how to share information on topics relevant to the course.

Over the course of the next four weeks we will build our wiki site, add and edit information. Each student in the class has been assigned to research a person who will could be labeled as a "technology trailblazer" because of their contribution to creating a digital world, and a company or technology that is associated with them. Students will present their work through this wiki. The list of research assignments is given below.

Topics this site covers include:

This page is maintained by the students of Computer Science 101 Digital Literacy Summer 2012, at Saint Anselm College. It is a collaborative resource for students taking the Summer Class. They post links to interesting readings, news stories, and humor involving the major topics of the course.

We hope that students both within this course and without it enjoy and benefit from the resources here.
